Deep wheels on a budget by StickLegs1977, 12 December 2016, 84 out of 107 people found this review helpful I wanted deep section carbon wheels because the look great… …oh and they have some aero benefits too, but lets be honest, they look great. People will try and convince you that they need them to blah blah blah but mainly it is because they look great. It’s bike jewellery. If you want wheels to improve your performance buy Ksyriums. They are lighter and spin up better. So, I wanted deep section wheels for under a grand. These are perfect. Aluminium braking surface so they actually stop in the wet. 12 months on nothing has come off or cracked. I did need to turn all the spoke nipples 1/2 turn tight after the first ride but since then have not touched them. This needs a tool as they need a deep thin wall allen key to fit, the Park 3 eared one works, 5.5mm I think and a straight blade holder but that’s pennies and new tools are always good! Love them. Did I mention that they look great! P.S. Anyone who wants to dis this review or me for being a poseur just check yourself… No-one NEEDS more bike than an aluminium Giant with 105. So get over yourself and have some fun, and buy some nice wheels because they look nice. 🙂 Pros: they look great. aluminiuim braking surface. they have stayed tight and true. gp4000’s fit on without tyre levers.
