Value for money versatile wheelset by YoungNicky, 11 September 2017, 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful I was a bit strapped for cash but needed new wheels quickly so went for these based on cost v weight and versatility. They are Alex rims with a nice deep profile. Tubeless tape was already installed and the valves were also supplied. The only slight negative it that I can see the rim seam but I’m not bothered as long as they stay true. The rear hub accepts my 11 speed SRAM force road cassette no trouble and there’s an anti bite guard on the freehub body so it should stay in good condition for a while. Both hubs are quiet which suits me. If I wanted a BMX I’d buy one. The wheels also came with spare nipples and spokes and several adapters for thru and qr axles. I needed to swap out the front for 15mm thru and did so without too much hassle although you can’t rely on the instructions, you’ll need the popular video site. I had a chew on fitting the front disc rotor too due to there not being enough room for the locking tool. I had to buy an oversize lock ring and tool for the job. So, after a nervous first few metres of spoke popping noises everything settled down and they’ve been fine for the first ten miles but only time will tell how they stay true. They’re 600 grams lighter than my stock wheels, they feel stiff, there’s very little lateral flex and I’m enjoying the responsiveness. If you have å£300 to spend you could do better but for under å£200 I don’t think there’s much else to rival them. Pros: price versatility stiffness weight (for the money) Cons: nothing at the moment I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Cheap by davep1979, 6 April 2018, 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful Pretty light for the price, and supplied with most the kit needed to go tubeless these seem like a bargain… Unfortunately, the build quality isn’t good – lots of pinging spokes on the first ride showing that they’ve not been tensioned/relieved properly. Unsurprisingly they went out of true soon after and required trueing. The bearings didn’t feel super smooth out of the box, and a quick peek behind the seals showed practically no grease in them – their lifespan will be woefully short if you don’t pick them apart and supplement what’s provided. Fitting tubeless ready tyres and popping a cap full of Stans sealant in them I was hopeful of a simple upgrade to non-tubed riding, however the first big glug of Stans just came pouring out of the rim joint, showing more poor build quality. The tyres seated and locked into the rim hook quickly enough – no leaks from round the tyre either, which was good – and the supplied valve didn’t leak, however a second big glug of Stans was needed to seal the rim joint. Pros: cheap. comes pre taped for tubeless with valves included Cons: poor build quality. low quality bearings “tubeless ready” rims not built well enough I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
