This upgrade is like getting a brand new fork! by JEMTB, 31 May 2016, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful This upgraded damper is awesome! The performance is like night and day compared to the old damper, the small bump sensitivity is excellent and it’s plush throughout the whole stroke. It doesn’t have high speed compression adjustment but it rides quite high in its travel and recovers very quickly ready to take the next hit. It’s not cheap but totally worth it! expensive but worthwhile, you might need different seals by CrankShop, 23 March 2017 Ok, impressed with the performance, I’m no mountain bike reviewer, but from my 8 months on the damper it is a huge improvement to the RC damper that the Solo Air Lyrik comes with. It’s a far smoother ride and far more adjustable. What I must say though, is that I have continually had issues with pressure build up in the air spring side lower leg, at first I thought it was a leak in the air spring, but I replaced the entire assembly to reduce the travel from 170 – 160 and it continued to happen, even to the point where it forced oil out past the oil seal and blew the dust seal out. The fix? Easy, you don’t need to use oil and dust wiper seals on your lyriks once you upgrade the damper, just use the new 35mm black seals and foam rings required to service the new lyrik and pike, doing away with oil seals (oil seals were only used because the damper unit is not sealed on 26 inch lyrik, but of course a charger damper is a sealed unit) using the new seals not only stops the air build up dramatically, but it also allows the forks to move more freely. Not sure why Rockshox don’t A: include them with the kit, and B: explain that you will probably need them ?? Never mind though, they did include a bleed kit, which is a doddle to use! Pros: feels better than the old damper easy to service Cons: expensive you may need to purchase additional seals at å£20 I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
